Edna Gonzalez Dau decided after graduating St. John’s University with a BA in Political Science, to pursue her passion in dance. She has more than 25 years of professional dance experience, including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and modern and ballroom.
Edna started her dance career at David Sanders’ studio in Long Island, taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. At 18 year old, Edna was granted a scholarship to New Dance Group in New York City, where she trained with international dance legends Frank Pietri, Shelley Frankel and Janine Molinari.
Over the years, she has taught dance classes for children and adults, in a variety of disciplines. Beyond dance, Edna is also a lifeguard and swim instructor, in 2008, Edna to shift over to the fitness world, this is where she obtained the first of four licenses in Zumba Fitness. Along the way Edna got more involved with fitness that she obtain other certifications from Piyo, Insanity, TRX, Spin to name a few.
In 2014, she achieved another lifelong dream by becoming a certified 200 hours yoga instructor in June of 2014. In January 2015 she decided to achieve her 300 hours yoga certification in Costa Rica.
Currently you can find Edna teaching Yoga at the Otesaga Resort and Clarke Sports in Cooperstown NY. She also teaches virtual yoga three times a week during the mornings. She also teaches Yoga and Zumba for Worcester Central School Enrichment Program.
