Experience Howe Caverns in a different light...

…See the caves the way Lester Howe and his guests first saw it in 1842 – by lantern light! All Lantern Tours begin in the museum with an extensive history briefing. Then you will be guided through the caverns under the full beauty of the lights, to the underground lake where torches and lanterns are lit. The remainder of the tour will be by lantern light, enjoying the mystique of the caverns in the same light as early visitors did a century ago.

Lantern Tours are offered Friday (dates are limited for Friday evenings in the off season. Please see our Lantern Tour Page for dates for Friday evenings)  and all  Saturday evenings year-round. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours. Tours are limited to 12 guests and advance reservations are required. All participants must be age 16 or older, all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
