When is the last tour of the cave?
The cave is open year round with seasonal hours. Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please see HOURS AND PRICING for specific dates and time.
How often do cave tours leave?
Tours leave according to how our guests arrive. There is no set schedule.
Is the cave handicapped accessible?
Unfortunately, no. However, those guests with impaired mobility are welcome to ride the elevator to get a glimpse and to feel the cool cave air. There is a video in our waiting area which they may watch.
When are you open?
The cave is open year round with seasonal hours. Closed Christmas and Thanksgiving. Howe High Adventure, which includes all outdoor activities, is open weekends beginning Memorial Day weekend through the month of June. OPEN DAILY July 1 through Labor Day Weekend. CLOSED after Labor Day Weekend. Please see "Hours" for more details. If there is a change in the schedule, check out the "NEWS" on the website.
What do I need to know before the visit?
Dress appropriately. Bring a light jacket or sweater. The cave is a constant 52-degrees F./12-degrees C. with 70-75% humidity -- year round. For your safety, no flip-flops are allowed in the cave. Also, for the safety of our guests and preservation of the caverns, large bags, backpacks, etc. are not permitted underground. The cave is not accessible for wheeled devices and strollers. Above-ground areas are accessible for our mobility impaired visitors. While pets are allowed on property when leashed, no pets are allowed on cave tours. During our summer season, we have an outdoor kennel available at no charge to our guests. Donations are accepted and used toward the upkeep of the kennel. As the kennel is an outdoor facility it is not available during the winter months.
Are there restrictions for Howe High Adventure?
Yes, though activities are suitable for children and adults, the following rules apply: You must understand and demonstrate knowledge of all safety rules. You must be in good physical condition. Additionally for Sky Trail® Ropes Course: you must be 48" tall and fit the harness safely. For the Zip Line: you must weigh at least 60 lbs., the maximum weight is 300 lbs. You must be able to fit and sit safely in the harness. For the Rock Wall and Air Jumper you must weigh 45 lb., maximum weight is 250 lb. Close-toed shoes must be worn on ropes course, zip line and rock wall. Minimum age for the H2OGO balls is 6 years. Three people may ride together but cannot exceed 550 lb total weight. T-shirt and shorts or bathing suit required for this wet ride. HOWE HIGH ADVENTURE is open seasonally and in season is open weather permitting.
