Traveling by Train or Bus 

Amtrak, Trailways and Greyhound have stops in nearby Schenectady. 

Before traveling, call ahead to Central Taxi Co. at 518-346-2344 to make arrangements for a ride to Howe Caverns. 

Travel time is about 30 minutes from Schenectady.

Driving

Please use the directions provided below or the GPS coordinates listed above. We recommend that you NOT use MapQuest or Google Maps as many of our guests reported their directions to be incorrect.

from the South

NYS Thruway (I-87) North to Albany.
At Albany the NYS Thruway becomes (I-90).
Continue on (I-90) West to exit 25A
(I-88) West to exit 22, then Route 7 East.
Follow signs.

from the South - Scenic Route
NYS Thruway (I-87) North to Exit 21 (Catskill)
Route 23 West, Route 145 North, Route 7 East
Follow signs.

from the North
Adirondack Northway (I-87)
South to exit 1W, NYS Thruway
(I-90) West to exit 25A, (I-88) West
to exit 22, then Route 7 East.
Follow signs.

from the West
NYS Thruway (I-90) East to
exit 29, Route 10 South to
Cobleskill, then Route 7 East.
Follow signs.

from the East
MA Turnpike (I-90) West into NY.
At Albany (I-90) becomes the NYS Thruway.
Continue on (I-90) West to exit 25A,
(I-88) West to exit 22, then Route 7 East.
Follow signs.

from the Southwest
(I-88) East to exit 22, then
